The Taiwanese American Art Association (TAAA), in association with TUF, Taiwan Center, Cultural Center of TECO in LA (CCTECO), and the Pacific Times, is sponsoring an open-to- public juried art exhibition to commemorate the Taiwanese American Heritage Week during May 3rd to 4th, 2008. Any body with Taiwanese American background is welcome to submit his or her original artworks for the exhibition. The exhibition will have two categories: one for Adult (also for children over 14 years of age, please enter this category) and the other for Children under13 years of age. The jurors who will select the works to be exhibited will include the members of TAAA and other professional artists and make the selection of about 60 to 80 artworks from all the submitted entry pieces. The number of the acceptance is largely limited by the available gallery space.

The exhibition information and rules are:

1. Artworks must be submitted to the TAAA desk at CCTECO Exhibition Hall during the period of April 29 (Tuesday) through 30 (Wednesday); each artwork shall be properly framed and comes complete with hanging hard wares and accompanied by the entry form, to be provided at CCTECO. CCTECO is located at 9443 Telstar Avenue, El Monte, CA 91731 (Tel: 626 443 9999). Or e-mail to [email protected] to request Entry Form. 2. Only original work by the artist will be considered. All media are acceptable. Craft, film and video are not acceptable. 3. Due to the limited gallery space, the size of an artwork shall be no more than 24”x30” and weigh less than 100 lbs. There is no limit on the number of submittals by each artist. TAAA reserves the right to refuse any artwork which is physically hard to handle or too large to display. 4. The non-refundable entry fee of $10 for the first artwork ($5 for each additional artwork) will be collected at the time of submittal. 5. If any work is not accepted, the artists will be notified by phone or e-mail on May 1. The artists are requested to pick up their works on May 1 and May 2 at CTECO. No notification means the artworks are accepted. 6. For Adult section there will be a Gold award ($300), a Silver award ($200) and a Bronze award ($100). For Children’s section, there will be a Gold award ($200), a Silver award ($100), and a Bronze award ($50). There is also a special Ching Jung Chen award ($500) for the Adult section only. All accepted works will receive certificates from TAAA. To receive the awards, the recipients must be present at the reception, 2 pm, on the opening date of May 3rd. 7.
