JOB DESCRIPTION

VOLUNTEER SERVICES CO-ORDINATOR

JOB TITLE: Volunteer Services Co-ordinator

DEPARTMENT: County Wide Support

MAIN PURPOSES OF JOB: To organise the volunteers of the Association

SCOPE OF JOB: Responsible to the SEO.

MAIN DUTIES:

 To recruit and select volunteers throughout Norfolk for the needs of all Association Activities. (This is to include advertising, liaising with other Voluntary Agencies and Bureau, interviewing and vetting).

 To provide all volunteers with in-house induction and visual awareness training. Where possible and practical this should include Fundraising Volunteers.

 To evaluate and develop appropriate placements for all volunteers throughout the Association, establishing clear working guidelines and boundaries of volunteer roles.

 To ensure appropriate direct management of volunteers is implemented within each department for the purpose of each role.

 To provide support and supervision for all volunteers when needed.

 To manage grievance or disciplinary issues relating to volunteers in conjunction with the appropriate Head of Department.

 To develop and maintain procedures/policies for volunteering within the Association.

 To oversee all volunteering contribution throughout every department of the Association, through liaising with departmental heads. ( Befriending/Telefriends, Eye Clinics, Sports & Leisure Activities, Clubs, HC, TTH, Charity Shop, Fundraising, Magpie News, Equipment Centres, Admin, Buddying Scheme, Transport etc.)

 To coordinate volunteer development through refresher/advanced training opportunities, social activities and other beneficial events.  To take a keener interest in those departments relying heavily on volunteers to operate i.e. The Eye Clinic, Sports & Leisure etc.

 To be responsible to producing the Magpie News three times per year.

 To liaise with the SEO to arrange an annual party for the volunteers.

 To put forward volunteers for civic awards.

 To attend craft shows as and when required.

 To attend meetings as and when required.

 To keep the designated volunteers page of the website up to date.

 To perform any other reasonable duties as required.
