Dear Parents: 20 January 2015
Your child has expressed an interest in visiting Dutchtown Middle School to make JROTC informational presentations to 8th grade classes on Tuesday, 27 January, from 10AM to 11AM. This time frame will require your child to miss all of 3rd period and perhaps the first 5 minutes of 4th period. Students are to report directly to JROTC immediately following 2nd period. Your child will be responsible for making up any class work missed while gone.
We need only 36 students to participate. Those students who volunteer must be an outstanding role model, be exceptionally responsible, have impeccable behavior in JROTC and at DHS, must have participated in a variety of JROTC extra- & co- curricular activities prior to this semester (so they can explain what we do from experience), and must have a good track record of wearing the JROTC uniform consistently and correctly. Our selections will be based upon these criteria. Participating students will earn points toward the JROTC recruiting ribbon and extra academic credit in the projects & presentations category. Participating students must wear the Air Force JROTC uniform (tie/tie tab, ribbons, and windbreaker) and meet ALL grooming standards.
Please complete the permission form below and have your child return it to me on Friday, 23 January by 4pm. We will announce selectees on Monday, 26 January. Please email me at [email protected] or call me at 770-515-7519 if you need additional information.

I understand that my child walk from Dutchtown High School to Dutchtown Middle School under the supervision of a JROTC instructor.
