Dear Dojo Director, Shihan, Sensei, Senpai and Kohai,

The Canadian Kyokushin Karate Organization presents and cordially invites you to MAS OYAMA’S MEMORIAL GOLD CUP held on Saturday, March 13, 2004 at Sheraton Hotel, in Laval.

The knockdown competition will be open to all styles for both men and women divisions. We also have junior divisions ages 5-17 for both boys and girls full contact with equipment. New, to Mas Oyama’s Memorial Gold Cup is a full contact senior division for both men and women. The senior division categories will be women, 35 years of age and over, open weight and men 38 years of age and over, open weight.

It gives us great honor to mention that, in attendance will be guest of honor Kancho Matsushima of Japan, director of the Kyokushin Karate Organization. Also present will be top Kyokushin instructors and fighters from Japan, Europe, United States and Canada.

Adult Male 160lbs & under 161-179lbs 180lbs & over

Adult Female 144lbs & under 145lbs & over Junior Males 150lbs & under 151lbs & over Junior Females 144lbs & under 145lbs & over Senior Male / Female OPEN WEIGHT

***The tournament director reserves the right to unite divisions or divide them according to events.

Entry Fees: $60.00 cdn (Adult Division – Full contact)

$30.00 cdn (Adult & Junior Division - Semi-contact) $30.00 cdn (Senior Division)

FIGHTERS CHECK IN AND WEIGH - IN;

The weigh - in will be held Friday night (March 12th, 2004) between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm at: Sheraton Hotel 2440 Autoroute des Laurentides Laval, Quebec

Junior Preliminaries / Senior Preliminaries: Consists of one (1) round of two (2) minutes no extensions.

Junior Finals / Seniors Finals: Consists of one (1) round of two (2) minutes with one (1) minute extension if necessary, two (2) extensions maximum.

***Shin & Instep, and head gear are obligatory, mouth piece and breast cup are permitted only.***

Adult Preliminaries: Consists of one (1) round of two (2) minutes with one (1) extension if necessary. Decision must be given.

Adult Finals: Consists of one (1) round of 2 (two) minutes with two (2) minute extensions if necessary with a maximum of two (2) extensions. If there is still no declared winner a decision will be based upon the weight. The lighter of the two fighters by 10lbs will be declared the winner. If there is still no difference, one (1) final round of two (2) minutes will be held.
