Private Lesson Program
Enrollment in the private lesson program at Byron Nelson High School is the quickest, most effective way for your child to improve his or her musical ability. It is an opportunity for your child to receive one-on-one instruction from a professional voice teacher.
In most cases, private lesson instruction would cost $30.00 or more per lesson. NISD is able to secure discounted prices for our band students. Each lesson through NISD only costs $20.00.
We highly encourage ALL BNHS Choir students to study privately. Students receive very little individual instruction during class. Private lessons are the key to ensuring student success and an even better musical experience!
Policies and Guidelines:
1. Students normally take one lesson each week. If lessons are scheduled during their choir class or during lunch, they will more than likely be half a class period in length to accommodate two students in a class period. 2. If a parent wishes to terminate their child’s private lessons, written notification must be signed and submitted to both the lesson teacher and the choir director no less than ten school days before the last lesson. 3. Lesson schedules will be based on the availability of the private teachers and the students. Lessons can take place during their choir class period, or during lunch. 4. Each individual private lesson teacher will dictate attendance policies. If a student misses a lesson without giving notice, the private teacher is under no obligation to reschedule the missed lesson and may still charge for the missed lesson if the proper amount of notice was not given to the lesson teacher. 5. Private lessons are not a part of the student’s grade.
