1. ELECTION OF CHAIRPERSON AND VICE-CHAIRPERSON

In accordance with ASEAN procedure for countries in alphabetical order and in referring to decision of the 16th Meeting of ATFC on the hosting of future ATFC meetings, the Meeting will elect Indonesia and Lao PDR as Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson of the 17th Meeting of ATFC, respectively.

2. ADOPTION OF THE AGENDA

The Meeting will consider and adopt its agenda.

3. BUSINESS ARRANGEMENTS

The Meeting will decide in the manner in which it would like to proceed.

4. PROGRESS IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF POLICY FRAMEWORK RELATED TO ASEAN COOPERATION IN FOOD SAFETY

4.1 Matters Arising from the Special SOM-37th AMAF, PREPSOM-38th AMAF, 38th AMAF Meeting

ASEAN Secretariat will inform the decisions of the Special SOM-37th AMAF, PrepSOM-38th AMAF, and 38th AMAF Meeting, relevant to food safety issues.

ASEAN Secretariat will update the endorsement of KPI of the Vision and Strategic Plan of Action for ASEAN Cooperation on Food, Agriculture and Forestry 2016-2025 and the streamlining result of AMAF Subsidiary bodies.

4.2 Matters Arising from other Relevant ASEAN Meetings

The ASEAN Secretariat will inform on the highlight of outcomes of other Meetings relevant to food safety.

5. MATTERS ARISING FROM THE 16th MEETING OF THE ASEAN TASK FORCE ON CODEX, 31 MAY – 2 JUNE 2016, HANOI

Vietnam, as Chair of the 16th ATFC may wish to highlight the outcomes of the Meeting. 1 6. UPDATE OF ACTIVITIES BY THE APPOINTED ASEAN FOCAL POINTS FOR THE CODEX COMMITTEES

The respective focal points may wish to update the Meeting on ASEAN position during the following sessions of Codex Committees:

6.1 Indonesia: i) Codex Committee on Food Additives (CCFA), ii) Codex Committee on Contaminants in Food (CCCF), iii) Codex Committee on Method Analysis and Sampling (CCMAS), iv) Codex Committee on Milk and Milk Products (CCMMP) and v) Codex Committee on Spice and Culinary Herbs (CCSCH)

6.2 Malaysia: i) Codex Committee on General Principles (CCGP) and ii) Codex Committee on Fats and Oils (CCFO)

6.3 Philippines: i) Codex Committee on Pesticide Residues (CCPR), ii) Codex Committee on Nutrition and Foods for Special Dietary Uses (CCNFSDU), iii) Codex Committee on Processed Fruit and Vegetables, iv) Codex Committee on Sugar (CCS)

6.4 Singapore: Codex Committee on Food Import and Export Inspection and Certification System (CCFICS)

6.5 Thailand: i) Codex Committee on Residues of Veterinary Drugs in Foods (CCRVDF), ii) Codex Committee on Fresh Fruit and Vegetables (CCFFV), and iii) Codex Committee on Food Hygiene (CCFH)
