How Essential Desirable assessed Qualifications
Diploma or Degree in Environmental Health  App/Doc
Certificate of registration with EHORB or  App/Doc equivalent.
Post Graduate qualification relevant to  App/Doc Environmental Protection. and
Demonstrable experience identified within the  App/Int section below.
Experience
Reasonable experience covering the majority  App/Int of functions within the provision of an Environmental Protection Service and associated enforcement.
Experience of writing and commenting to  App/Int Planning Officers about the environmental implication of planning proposals.
Skills/Knowledge
Technical knowledge of legislation for  App/Int prescribed premises permitted under LA- PPC, Industrial Emissions Directive and other relevant legislation.
Technical knowledge of the Local Air Quality  App/Int Management review & assessment process and associated legislation.
1 of 2 Technical knowledge of the Contaminated  App/Int Land legislation and guidance.
Technical knowledge of pollution control  App/Int legislation in respect of noise, odour, smoke and other statutory nuisance. App/Int Technical knowledge of anti-social behaviour  (ASB) legislation and guidance.
Computer literate.  App/Int Familiar with “Civica Flare” environmental health software management package or similar systems.  App/Int
Training Skills  App/Int Interpersonal Skills
Strong interpersonal skills with good  App/Int communication, networking and negotiating skills.
Results orientated, with a customer and  App/Int quality focused approach.
Effective team worker with an ability to work  App/Int to deadlines.
Ability to deal with conflict and potentially  App/Int difficult clients. Other requirements
To be able on occasion to work outside  App/Int normal office hours
Mobility throughout the Borough  App/Int
