Materials and dimensions of luminaires and poles. 2. Certified results of independent laboratory tests for fixtures and lamps for electrical ratings and photometric data. 3. Certified results of laboratory tests for fixtures and lamps for photometric performance. 4. High-intensity-discharge luminary ballasts. 5. Types of lamps.

B. Shop Drawings: 1. Anchor-bolt templates keyed to specific poles and certified by manufacturer. 2. Installation instructions. 3. Pole details. 4. Wind loading. 5. Lowering device. 6. Headframe. 7. Ring device. 8. Winch and clevis. 9. Motor.

C. Maintenance Data: For lighting units to include in maintenance manuals.

0.3 QUALITY ASSURANCE

A. Luminaires and Accessories: Listed and labeled as defined in NFPA 70, Article 100, for their indicated use, location, and installation conditions by a testing agency acceptable to authorities having jurisdiction

B. Comply with NFPA 70.

0.4 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING OF POLES

A. Store poles on decay-resistant treated skids at least 12 inches above grade and vegetation. Support poles to prevent distortion and arrange to provide free air circulation.

B. Retain factory-applied pole wrappings on metal poles until just before pole installation. Handle poles with web fabric straps and according to manufacturer’s recommendations.

PART 2 - PRODUCTS

0.1 PRODUCTS

A. Manufacturer: Unless otherwise directed by the Owner, provide products manufactured Holophane or approved substitute by General Electric.

B. Symmetrical Distribution Type V High Mast Lighting 1. Pole Height: 50 feet. 2. Number of Fixtures: 6 per pole, one 3-phase circuit per pole. 3. Lamps: One vertical 1000 watt clear HO metal halide per fixture 4. Holophane Catalog Number: Series HMSPC10MH48S 5. Optical Assembly: open ventilated borosilcate glass with reflecting and with spun aluminum cover. 6. Ballast Type: Super constant-wattage autotransformer. Equip with solid state igniter/starter having an average life in pulsing mode of 10,000 hours at an igniter/start case temperature of 90 degrees C. 7. Ballast Fuses: One in each ungrounded power supply conductor. Voltage and current ratings suitable for source voltage of 277 volts per manufacturer's recommendation. 8. Lowering Device System: Provide a complete lowering device system including, but not limited to the following: a. Main sub-assemblies; head frame assembly-top latching ring assembly, self centering ring assembly and portable winch and drive motor-type 15, transportable on wheels. b. Provide branch circuit breaker protection for lamps wired from 480/277 volt, 3 phase, 4 wire circuit. Include 120-volt weatherproof receptacle, step-down transformer and GFCI in each pole base. 9. Poles shall be 50 feet, tapered steel, designed for all equipment loads, wind and ice loads in accordance with Holophane "HMSP" manufacturing data for the fixture weights to be supported. Poles shall be finished in baked dark bronze (Coordinate with Division 2 Section “Lighting Poles and Standards”).

PART 3 - EXECUTION

0.1 INSTALLATION

A. Concrete Foundations: 1. Concrete: Use 3000-psi-minimum, 28-day compressive strength complying WITH ASTM C 94, using 3/8-inch maximum aggregate size. Provide reinforcement as indicated.

B. Install poles as follows: 1. Use web fabric slings (not chain or cable) to raise and set poles. 2. Mount pole to foundation with leveling nuts, and tighten top nuts to torque level recommended by pole manufacturer. 3. Secure poles level, plumb, and square. 4. Grout void between pole base and foundation. Use nonshrinking or expanding concrete grout firmly packed in entire void space. 5. Use a short piece of 1/2-inch-diameter pipe to make a drain hole through grout. Arrange to drain condensation from interior of pole.

C. Luminary Attachment: Fasten to indicated structural supports.

D. Luminary Attachment with Adjustable Features or Aiming: Attach luminaires and supports to allow aiming for indicated light distribution.

E. Lamp luminaires with indicated lamps according to manufacturer's written instructions. Replace malfunctioning lamps.

0.2 CONNECTIONS

A. Ground equipment. 1. Tighten electrical connectors and terminals according to manufacturer's published torque- tightening values. If manufacturer's torque values are not indicated, use those specified in UL 486A and UL 486B.

B. Ground metal poles structures according to Division 16 Section "Grounding." 1. Others may install ground rod and ground wire with the base; coordinate with the Owner. 2. Connect ground wire to pole base and bushings in accordance with manufacturer’s installation recommendations.

0.3 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL

A. Inspect each installed unit for damage. Replace damaged units.

B. Tests and Observations: Verify normal operation of lighting units after installing luminaires and energizing circuits with normal power source, and as follows: 1. Check intensity and uniformity of illumination. 2. Check excessively noisy ballasts.

C. Malfunctioning Fixtures and Components: Replace or repair, then retest. Repeat procedure until units operate properly.

0.4 CLEANING AND ADJUSTING

A. Clean units after installation. Use methods and materials recommended by manufacturer.
