The Nutrition Group and cafeteria staff would like to welcome you back for the 2017-2018 school year! We would like to encourage each student to participate in the breakfast program each morning in the cafeteria between 7:10a.m. – 7:45a.m. Note: Breakfast will NOT be served on a delayed schedule. If your student participates in the federally funded reduced cost or free lunch program, he/she will also be eligible to participate in the breakfast program. A new free and reduced lunch application must be completed each year.

It is our continuing goal to keep negative meal account balances to a minimum. High School students are not able to charge more than one meal. No alternate meal will be provided should a student incur a negative balance. As a reminder, ala carte items are never allowed to be charged or purchased if a student has a negative balance. Negative and positive balances from the previous school year WILL be carried over to the following school year.

The purchase method for your student is our Point of Sale system. Each student is assigned a PIN number. This number will be used for students to enter on a key pad located at the register. The computer then identifies and accesses the student’s account. If there is money in the account, the purchases are deducted, eliminating the need for students to carry money to school every day. If a student is eligible for free meals, the computer will read the student’s PIN, act as if the student has cash in the account and will not ask for money. For a reduced student, the computer will recognize that the student is to be charged at the reduced meal price. If interested in depositing money into your student’s account, you can do so by submitting a check payable to: Palmyra Area SD Cafeteria Fund. Cash is acceptable, but checks are preferred. Please make sure to include your student’s name and PIN number on all checks and envelopes. Students are encouraged to bring all account payments to the cafeteria each morning and give to a cashier. Money can also be deposited into your student’s account through our online payment service – EZSchoolPay.com. The student ID number is used for this online payment system.

We are committed to providing students with healthy meals, compliant with the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs. This includes reasonable accommodations for students with physician prescribed dietary restrictions and allergies. Please contact the Food Service Director in regards to such restrictions and allergies. Palmyra’s District Policy for Student Wellness, Board Policy No. 246, can be accessed on our website under Districtwide Info-Health and Wellness.

Negative payment reminders will be sent home monthly. If you question your student’s cafeteria balance, please call the cafeteria office 717-838-1331. We wish everyone a very happy and successful school year!
