DEPARTMENT: Meat POSITION STATUS: Non-Exempt REPORTS TO: Meat Manager PAY STATUS: Hourly PREPARED BY: Angie Dreifuerst DATE: 3/23/11

SUMMARY: Cut and trim meat to size for display or as ordered by customer by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: •Provide excellent customer service to assure that all customers leave satisfied and will return to shop at Trig’s again. •Responsible for protecting the interests in the store (ie. shoplifters, cash control, etc.) •Greet customers; resolve customer complaints and inquiries. •Cut and trim prime cuts to reduce to cooking cuts such as roasts, steaks, chops, stew cubes, and grinding meat. •Clean and cut poultry in preparation for wrapping. •Shape, lace, and tie meat cuts by hand to form roasts. •Grind meat and poultry using proper equipment. •Place meat on trays to be wrapped by other associates. •Place prepared packages of meat in display cooler. •Keep department faced and fresh; remove outdated product. •Ensure proper storage of prepared meat and extra stock in the cutting room or cooler. •Clean and sanitize all equipment used. •Perform all job duties in a manner safe to self and others. •Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other associates of the organizations. Speak English fluently. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the assocaite regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The associate is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
