Post Title: Governance Administrator to the Local Governing Bodies of the PFT (x2 positions available) Responsible to: Lead Clerk at the Primary First Trust

Responsible for: No Supervisory Responsibility

Salary: BEX03 £9.62 per hour plus travel expenses

Hours: Hours contracted are per meeting and are variable depending on the length and type of meeting taking place. (a typical meeting is 2 hours, plus the additional time to type up the minutes – approximately 4-6 hours in total per meeting).

Meetings take place at each school, during the evenings, between the hours of 5pm – 8pm (i.e. 5-7pm, or 6-8pm). Arrival 10-15 minutes prior to the start of the meeting.

Approximately 18 meetings are to be covered across all schools, per full term, by a pool of Governance Administrators. Dates and times of meetings for 2017-18 are already set for each school. Region: Bexley, Kent and Medway (8 schools)

Main purpose of role

 To provide a clear and concise written record of the meeting.  To feedback any key questions and/or concerns from the meeting, to the Senior Clerk.

Main responsibilities and tasks

Governance Administrators to the governing body will:

 Attend each assigned meeting. Provide a written record of discussions throughout the meeting, indicating who is responsible for any agreed action with timescales, and to send the draft minutes to the Senior Clerk within three days of the meeting taking place;  Record the attendance of governors at meetings;  Record any pecuniary interests declared by governors at meetings;  Record any training undertaken by members of the governing body, as advised at meetings;  Chair any part of the meeting at which a Chair is to be elected, giving procedural advice concerning conduct of this;  Attend termly Clerks Briefings / training to maintain his/her knowledge and improve practice (approximately 2 hours per term).  Minutes can be typed from the main office or from home.
