Agenda

1. Updates within the Recreation Department a. Winter offerings ( soccer, volleyball, zumba, beyond the bell, intelligent investing, love & logic) b. Spring: continuation of Mikro Soccer, possible Zumba, family fun nights *2 c. Volunteers in Recreation and in the District: the new process-WECAN d. Summer School/Cool: June 16- July 3 & July 7-July 25th. Book to BOE by March 3rd and edits by March 7th.

2. New Programs Summer School/Cool a. Modifying floor hockey, t-ball to soccer, & Safety Town b. Adding pickle ball, washers, possible fitness class, computer class, gardening c. Possible price adjustments across the board

3. Witness the Fitness Initiative a. Kathy Scott: finalize details and plans b. Marketing materials and program plan: make sure we are all on the same page c. Jeff Obst: t-shirts d. Volunteer Forms and recruitment of volunteers: game plan

4. Marketing and Community Engagement Plan a. Minutemen Update, Bay view locations, St. Francis School District ( marketing avenues) b. Free on-line registration software ( Stadium Roar) c. New website for the district..

St Francis School District Recreation Department – Positive Community Engagement

The mission of the St. Francis School District is to prepare students to be literate and responsible world citizens. 5. Purpose and Goals for the St. Francis Recreation Committee Mission Statement Draft – The St. Francis Recreation Department strives to meet the needs of the St. Francis Community through cost effective programs, which enhance the community through participation, creating a better, healthier life style. The committee agreed to think more about the possible mission statement and discuss more at the next meeting. Goals/Initiatives - New recreation programming, increased marketing and community connections, expanding volunteer programming, re-evaluate purpose of Quarterly Recreation Meeting.

NOTES

 Intelligent Investing may be tried again in the spring. Love & Logic will be tried again in the fall.  Family Fun Nights: 1 in March and 1 in early April  Safety Town will be revised a bit for summer: program cost will be lowered, held at an earlier time in the day and curriculum will entail collaboration from SF Fire and Police.  Looking into having sponsorship from a local business for a shirt for the kids  Marketing: putting a one page rec handout in quarterly mailing from the city, Thomas More, Library, City Hall, etc.  Witness the Fitness, walking initiative is starting March 3-May 1st Mondays, Wednesday and Thursday evenings 5-7:30pm at St. Francis High School. St. Francis School & Rec is partnering with the St. Francis Health Department to promote health and wellness in the community.
