Maintain a Healthy, Growing Personal Relationship with Christ

What is a YoungLives Mentor?

Purpose Our primary motive and focus as Young Life leaders is to present Christ to lost kids and disciple them as followers as Christ.

Commitment • Maintain a healthy, growing personal relationship with Christ • Actively initiate and develop relationships with teen moms by befriending a small group of teen moms • Commit to walking with one teen mom in a mentoring relationship at least once a week for one year • Regularly plan, attend, participate, and bring girls to club and/or Campaigners • Attend all monthly mentor training times and any required Young Life training • Promote and attend (if possible) YoungLives summer camp • Participate in special events – field trips, parenting classes, etc. • Pray for teen moms, for our vision, for each other

Club Club is a time where we get together with teen moms once or twice a month to share a meal, play games, laugh, and hear a message about Jesus.

Campaigners Campaigners is a discussion-based small group time for teen moms who want to go more in- depth in their faith or who just want to explore what it means to follow Jesus.

Mentor Meetings Mentor meetings are training time with all the mentors from our area. We have fellowship, worship together, and are encouraged in our ministry.

Contact Work Contact work means hanging out with teen moms outside of club or other events. It means spending time getting to know them and hanging out on their turf – at school, at home, at the playground, etc.

Camp Camp is a one-week adventure with teen moms and their babies at a beautiful Young Life camp in one of five locations around the country. Childcare volunteers watch the children during the day so that teen moms and their mentors can take advantage of everything that camp has to offer!
