RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

My research interests are in health and nutrition economics and food and agricultural policy. I have acquired research experience on a variety of topics including: as an undergraduate, Arkansas cattle market prices in a class project and futures and options: pre-spreading for undergraduate research; as a graduate student, land fragmentation in a class project, ethanol production and cooperatives in a national case study competition, and currently for my master’s thesis through primary survey data, the economic cost of a mandatory sodium policy on food processors.

Research Assistant Spring 2011-present Department of Agricultural Economics, Oklahoma State University Stillwater, OK o Develop survey for distribution to food processors in Oklahoma o Collaborate with the Oklahoma food industry and Food and Agricultural Product Center o Collect consumer preference literature on reduced sodium products o Interpret survey data to find the economic impact of a potential sodium reduction policy

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

My teaching interests are agricultural policy, microeconomics, or agribusiness courses involving topics such as management and marketing. During my 4-H years, I gained first-hand experience teaching in a classroom through workshops on Photography, Graphic Design, and GPS Search and Rescue to name a few. As an undergraduate, I had the opportunity to manage grades and tutor students in groups and one-on-one; now as a graduate student I grade students’ work, manage grade sheets, and put together tests, quizzes and answer keys.
