Job Title: DOMINO EFFECT TRAINING CO ORDINATOR (a Big Lottery funded post)

Hours: Negotiable (minimum of 15 hours per week, maximum of 40 hours per week. The position will require the successful candidate to be able to work six hours on Fridays, and a minimum of 3 hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays)

Holiday: Full time Employees – 28 days per annum (not including Bank Holidays)

Salary: £18,000 pro rata with pension

1) Job Summary:

 The Training Coordinator post is focused on the coordination and delivery of the Domino Effect’s Outreach, Stage 1 and Training the Trainer courses. Key to the role will be coordination and support of the Domino Effect Team of Trainers in the delivery of the courses, ensuring they are prepared and supported in doing this.

 The Training Coordinator will report to IDEAL’s Programme Director

2) Duties: a) Coordinate delivery of the Domino Effect’s Outreach, Stage 1 and Training the Trainer courses. This includes

 Ensuring all resources are ready for each round of the training

 Support all Domino Effect Trainers in their preparation and delivery of the training

 Allocate the sessions to Trainers each week

 Lead weekly team meetings with Domino Effect Trainers, where their delivery and the Trainees engagement is reflected upon and strategies developed where necessary b) Assess Trainers effectiveness through training observations of Trainers and Trainee Trainers when delivering live. c) Deliver Domino Effect’s Outreach, Stage 1 and Training the Trainer courses

1 d) Organise and deliver fortnightly 121 supervision for Domino Effect Trainers and Trainee Trainers focused on their development as a Trainer e) Organise 121 supervision sessions for Trainers with the Delivery and Programme Directors. These are focused on the Trainers development as an individual and their goals outside of the project. f) Maintain and update records of Domino Effect Trainers, including 121 supervision notes, and SMART Plans, ensuring they are kept in a safe place in line with IDEAL’S Confidentiality Policy. g) Assist in the evaluation of the impact of training on Domino Effect Trainers and Trainees h) Promote the Domino Effect Project and courses, and support Domino Effect Trainers to do the same i) Engage with all IDEAL staff and Domino Effect Trainers to solve specific training problems and in the development of the Project, either on a one-to-one basis or in groups. j) Attend weekly team meetings with the Delivery and Programme Directors k) Attend regular 121 meetings with the programme Director as agreed to reflect and look at particular areas of your training and work which will form part of an action plan for your professional development. l) Have a clear understanding of all IDEAL’S policies in relation to your role and the organisation as a whole and apply these as required throughout your day to day work. m) Keep up to date with developments in adult learning and training by reading relevant journals, going to meetings and attending relevant courses. n) Over the period of your employment work towards IDEAL’S aim of becoming a centre of educational excellence for peer led models of training.

3 Skills . Ability to deliver Domino Effect Training alone and with a co trainer to the highest level required, utilising appropriate personal examples

. Ability to demonstrate experience of working on own initiative, including time management, taking decisions where required and managing workload

. Excellent inter personal communication skills

. Ability to resolve conflicts and negotiate positive outcomes for all parties

. Ability to work as part of a team and encourage strong team work philosophy

. Solutions focused ‘can do’ approach, using a peer led model of practice. . IT level 2, successful . Good standard of IT skills, particularly in MS Word completion of Learn . Excellent communication skills in both written and oral form Direct course or similar. and confident and clear manner using the telephone and when taking messages.

. Experience of networking/liaison with other agencies

4 Knowledge . A proven knowledge and understanding of the life .
