Friday 10/5/07 Aim: How do we create a quote database? Motivation: Take out your copies of Persepolis. Choose a partner. In pairs, re-read chapters 1-3 of Persepolis. As you read, select quotes that connect to the following three themes, “Social Change/Revolution” “Religion,” or “Family.” HW: Assignment #14: Create a quote database of at least 15 quotes from “The Veil,” “The Bicycle” and “The Water Cell.” Make sure you include who said it, context and your citation. Example: While dressing up like revolutionaries with her friends, Marjane says, “The revolution is like a bicycle. When the wheels don’t turn, it falls.” (10)
