Drama Club Parent/Student Contract
All students in grades 5-8 are eligible to participate in the drama club. Participation in this club is a huge commitment; however it is a very rewarding experience.
1. Practices will be Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2:45pm -4:30pm and will extend until 5:00pm beginning in April; consistently missed practices and/or leaving early will result in loss of roles and possible participation.
2. Auditions were held in December 2014 and the cast has been chosen.
3. Practices will begin upon return in January.
4. All Drama Club members and their parents/guardians must sign the Club Agreement.
5. Agreement must be signed before a student can attend Drama Club Meetings.
6. All Drama Club meetings/practices will be posted on Mrs. Freeman’s Blog, as well as announced during morning and afternoon announcements. Do not stay after school for Drama Club if the meeting is canceled. It is your responsibility to print out the schedule.
7. Each participant must submit a $20.00 non-refundable fee to defray the cost of costumes and set design.
8. Two shows will be available for audience viewing:
Thursday, May 7, 2015 @ 7:00pm Friday, May 8, 2015 @ 7:00pm
9. Detention/ Suspension- Students who have been cast in a production may lose their role due these circumstances. Because this is a school-related club, any and all school rules apply. Continued participation in this club will be determined by the discretion of the Drama Club Advisors.
10. TRUST & RESPECT are the building blocks of theatre. Any students disrespecting other students, *the advisor or **club activities, will be placed on probation. After a conference about this behavior, any further incidents will result in loss of the privilege to attend Drama Club. *Disrespecting the advisor, open defiance, is defined by any verbal or nonverbal overt refusal to comply with reasonable requests. This includes but is not excluded to talking back, eye rolling, ignoring the advisor, profanity, inappropriate language, etc. **Disrespecting club activities is defined as the decision to verbally or nonverbally display negativity towards a game, team building effort, production or other drama activity. This includes but is not limited to talking during activities, refusal to participate, distracting others, not following instructions, destroying/defacing property. ------I have read and agreed to the rules, so I may participate in the SFCS Drama Club for the 2015 show. ______Parent/Guardian Signature Date ______Parent/Guardian email address ______Student Signature Date
