EHS Morning Announcements: 03/17/16

Attention EHS:

Our Penny Wars run all week so don't forget to bring in your change and dollars. Look for your class bucket in the dining hall before school and during each lunch period to participate. EVERY STUDENT in the winning class is entered into a drawing for a gift card of your choice!

Update on the Penny Wars:

Freshman have negative 35 cents, Sophomores have negative $1.74, Juniors have negative $1.93, and Seniors have negative $5.88. Freshman are still winning with negative 35 cents after Day 3 of the Penny Wars.

Family & Consumer Science Club:

Our March meeting is next Tuesday the 22nd! Room 123 after school. March of Dimes is our theme this month. Come and have fun while learning about giving a fighting chance for every baby! Bring a spring treat to share!

MAC Scholars:

We are meeting today to discuss community service activities and field trips! Be there! Room 202 after school until 3:30.

Seniors:

Please remember that your senior picture must be taken by Woodard by March 25th. Your baby picture/little kid picture and quote are also due by March 25th. Baby pictures and quotes can be emailed or given to Mrs. Hammond. Please be sure to label your picture with your name and homeroom.

College Now Scholarships:

College Now Scholarships deadline is due by Monday, March 21st!! Upcoming workshops for College Now; FAFSA assistance, ACT registration and Scholarship Day. Listen for upcoming dates.

Anime Club:

Anime Club will have a regular meeting tomorrow. It's a mystery screening and a bring your own snack day. Foster Youth Scholarship:

Free full ride college scholarship for foster youth at Hillsdale College! All interested youth, please see Mrs. Val at College Now!!

Attention Seniors:

Prom Tickets will be going on sale Monday April 4th when we return from Spring Break. Please make sure your school fees are paid off, if not you will not be able to purchase tickets to Prom. See Mrs. Soulchin in the main office to take care of your fees immediately. If you have any questions please see Mrs. Baytos.

Creative Writing Club:

Creative Writing Club will be having our next meeting today in room 114 after school. The prompt for the meeting is "Write a break up letter to something you're attached to." See you there!

Attention EHS Students:

Volunteers are needed from 7:30 am until 10am this Saturday to help set up the Spring Craft and Vendor Fair to benefit Special Olympics and help vendors unload…Please see Andrea Orr or Sharon Goodsite in the Team 1 office today if interested.

Hey juniors are you ready to take the A.C.T?

Could you use a little help to boost your test score? Then A.C.T. Boot Camp is for you! A.C. T Boot camp is free! It is one of your choices for an activity during testing week in April, and will be taught by none other than Mrs. Valerie Howard from College Now. Please see Mrs. Howard in the College Now office if you have any questions.

Elyria School District Pioneer Pride T-shirt Design Contest:

Hey, EHS students are you interested in entering the t-shirt design contest? Designs must be the original work of an Elyria High student. Entries must be turned in on the official entry form to Mr. Rainey in room 134 by the end of school today. Voting will begin this Friday, and will be open to the entire school district. Prizes will be awarded for the top 3 entries. See Mr. Rainey if you have questions.
