Spa V - Las abejas de bronce - Board Game Project
You and your group members will create a board game based on the story Las abejas de bronce by Marco Denevi. You will need a poster board for this project, and whatever creative and colorful accents you would like to add.
Your game will consist of rules (details below) a game board, a method to advance (dice, spinner), game pieces for at least 4 people, and question cards.
Your classmates will be playing your game. Please make it fun, entertaining, and accurate with easily understandable rules.
Question Cards
Your group will create question cards for these categories:
El autor, El Zorro, El Oso, El Cuervo, Las Abejas, Las Abejas de bronce, El Argumento (plot): include details about the story’s events, and also the other characters of the story like the various birds and the spiders Vocabulario: Start these question cards with “Qué quiere decir ______?”
These question cards are to be solely in Spanish, BOTH the questions and the answers. The only exception to this is the vocabulary cards, where one is asked the definition of a word.
Your group will need to decide how to format the cards. If the answer appears on the card, then you will need to include in the game rules that someone else (the player on the right, perhaps) will read the card to the player whose turn it is.
You could code the cards by category and number and have a separate corresponding list of answers to the questions on the cards.
All of your questions and answers will be typed and double spaced and handed in for my edits. Please separate them by category while typing them. Include a heading that includes all group members’ first and last names. Helpful reminders for your project:
“Field test” your project, or give it a play or two. If you run out of cards/questions before someone wins the game, you probably didn’t make enough.
If you’re wondering if I’ll think you have enough cards/questions, make more.
If you finish the game in 15 minutes or less, then it lacks the complexity needed to address all characters and particulars of plot.
Your cards must be neat, legible and grammatically correct.
Use commands when telling players what to do. Do you remember how to form your formal commands? Go to “yo” Drop the “o” Add the opposite ending. For “ar” verbs go to “e” or “en” For “er” and “ir” verbs go to “a” or “an”
For example: Hablar > hable, hablen Parar > pare, paren Avanzar > avance, avancen Preguntar > pregunte, pregunten Empezar – empiece, empiecen Comer > coma, coman Tirar > tire, tiren Hacer> haga, hagan
To roll the dice – tirar (echar) los dados To spin the wheel – hacer girar a la rueda
Apuntes:______Rules of the game:
Your rules should be coherent and easy to follow. They will, of course, have to be grammatically sound as well.
You will type, number, and double-space your rules.
You will make two copies of the game rules, one for use in play, and one to be handed in to me for grading.
Use Times New Roman 12 or 14.
