Balboa Magnet Green Team – First Fridays

Because of your continued support of the Green Team, we were able to plant California native wildflower seeds in our Discovery Garden. The recent rains have helped the seeds to sprout and the garden should be full of color this spring! You can help by participating in our monthly “Stop, Drop & Recycle” and “First Fridays in the Garden” events. 100% of the money collected from recycling will go directly to our school garden!

You are invited to “Stop, Drop & Recycle” on the First Friday of every month! The next “Stop, Drop & Recycle” event will be on FRIDAY, February 6th at the morning carpool drop off lane. In order to avoid any delays in the carpool lane, we ask that you put your recyclables in a bag that can be handed to one of the parent volunteers. Please be sure to follow the same carpool safety procedures!

We collect and recycle the following items:  Plastic WATER/DRINK bottles (CRV only!)  Empty glue sticks and bottles  Empty drink pouches (Capri Sun, Honest Kids, etc.)  Empty Lunchables containers  Printer ink cartridges  Cell phones

First Fridays in the Garden We invite you to stop by the Balboa Discovery Garden (located behind the school library) on the First Friday of every month from 8:30 –10:30 AM. We especially need help tackling the weeds after our recent rainy days. Tools and gloves will be provided. Our next event will take place on FRIDAY, February 6th. WEATHER PERMITTING!
