3 Read to the end of the fourth paragraph where it says, ‘that he would ground out’  What is the conflict present so far? What do you think will happen with this conflict?

 In what capacity is his daughter mentioned in this section- what does she do for him?

 Note the significant imagery in the description of the mountain. Could this be a metaphor for something else?
