Important Information:

The conference link was emailed home today at 5:00pm.

The students will participate in the March-A-Thon on Friday during their special class.

The chapter 1 math tests were returned last week. Please review, sign, and return it to school.

MATH:

Lesson 2.6: We will divide by 2-digit divisors.

Lesson 2.7: We will interpret what to do with the remainder. We will decide based on the word problem if we should ignore it, round it up, report it with the quotient, or report it alone as the final answer to the question.

Lesson 2.8: We will review estimation strategies and practice adjusting the first digit in the quotient if the estimate is too high or too low.

Lesson 2.9: We will use diagrams to solve multilevel division problems.

We will hopefully be ready for a short chapter 2 test on division by Tuesday of next week. Then we need to complete the Unit 1 test for chapters 1 and 2 next Thursday and Friday.

Think Central: The students have access to math materials on the Think Central Website.

They can login using their student email address as the username and their student ID # as the password. Username example: [email protected]

(The directions below have been provided by the district.)

Follow these simple steps to access online materials and assignments:

1. Go to http://www-k6.thinkcentral.com. 2. Select your state, district, and school. 3. To make it easier to log in later, check Remember My Information (optional). 4. Enter your user name and password. 5. Click Login. Once logged in, the student welcome page will appear. My Library gives you access to the online materials that have been made available. This is the only portion of the website you will need to access at this time.

**The plans made and shared each week with you are what I intend to complete by the end of the week. We may get further or we may need to carry some activities over to the next week. I appreciate your flexibility and understanding as we all work to meet the needs of the students.
