The Life Education Caravan Visit This Week This week we have been lucky enough to have specially trained Coram Life Education educators visit our school in a mobile classroom (a caravan on the Community Centre Carpark) to help teach our children to keep themselves healthy and safe. The messages the children are being given is central to our PSHE education and our children's Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural development and is a wonderful experience for all the classes involved. Don’t forget to ask your child all about it and what they have learnt on their visit. Each class will have brought an information leaflet home about it. Or look on the website below to find out more details: http://www.lifeeducation.org.uk/film_clips/index.php This year the PTA has funded this venture and we thank them for supporting us with this in school and all the parents and carers, who support our PTA events.

Homework Club Thursdays with Mrs Panther in the Computing Suite (Please note this will start from Thursday 22nd September) We would like to invite any children to use this session to complete homework in school with help and support from Mrs Panther. This is a ‘drop in’ session and therefore children do not need to sign up to it every week only if they feel they want some help or a quiet environment to work in. Parents are also welcome to ‘drop in’ and use this time to come and discuss with Mrs Panther how your child can be supported in their homework, if there is an area you feel you need help with.

The largest school choir concerts in the world We still have a few spaces available for any KS2 children who would like to join our ‘Young Voices’ choir this coming year. The concert will take place at the Manchester Arena next February 2017. The date has yet to be confirmed. Rehearsals will take place after school on Thursdays 3:20 - 4:15 in Year 3 classroom until the time of the concert. Order forms for T- shirts (compulsory for the performance) and audience tickets (evening performance) will be issued at the next rehearsal. It would be lovely if parents could come and support the concert. However, this is not compulsory. If your son/daughter would like to take part in the concert, please complete and return the ‘club choice’ slip issued in last week’s newsletter. NB. As places are limited, children who return their slips to Mrs Parkinson will be given priority.

Reading Week This year our reading week is from Tues 4th October. As part of reading week, on Friday 7th October to celebrate Roald Dahl's 100th birthday, we are all dressing up as a Roald Dahl character!
