Q1. A misplaced modifier is a word, phrase, or clause that is improperly separated from the word it modifies/describes. Because of the separation, sentences with this error often sound confusing. Rewrite each of the following sentences correcting the place of the modifier. (10 Marks) 1. On her way home, Jan found a gold man’s watch. 2. The child ate a cold bowl of cereal for breakfast this morning. 3. The torn student’s book lay on the desk. 4. We ate the lunch that we had brought slowly. 5. The dealer sold the Cadillac to the buyer with leather seats. 6. The three bankers talked quietly in the corner smoking pipes. 7. The waiter served a dinner roll to the woman that was well buttered. 8. Ralph piled all of his clothes in the hamper that he had worn. 9. Looking toward the west, a funnel shaped cloud stirred up dust. 10. When nine years old, my mother enrolled in medical school.

Q2. Look at the below picture carefully. It is depicting a newly inaugurated subway station. You, as a journalist, have reached the location. While keeping in mind the “drafting” rules, make a news draft of ten sentences using the vocabulary bank in the given picture. (10 Marks)
