NEWS TO KNOW:

Students interested in taking University of Saskatchewan classes in Prince Albert next year are invited to an information meeting in room B105 at 12:10 today. ______Attention Grads:

1. Come help decorate the stilettos and tuxedos for Grad on Tuesday, March 26th 6:30 – 8:30 pm at Carlton in the Art Room Y101. It will be fun!!!

2. Grad portraits will be taken the week of April 8th – 12th (the week right after the Easter break) and will be taken in the Gold Gym. If your name is on the grad list you have been slotted into a date and time. The schedule has been given to grade 12 teachers to post in their classrooms, as well, the schedule is posted across from the General Office. You are expected to go to the time scheduled for you, however, if you are unable to make it, please trade with another grad and fulfill that time. If you want the portrait proof package sent to your home, please bring the $30 sitting fee to your appointment time. If you are making out a cheque, please make it out to Picture Perfect Portraits. If you are not wanting the package, please still have your grad portrait taken as it will be used for the Herald, composite board and yearbook. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. McKay in the General Office.

3. If you have not yet filled out a form to order a cap and gown for grad, please see the General Office as soon as possible. ______The Presale of the 2012/2013 Yearbook will be today at noon in the Rotunda. The cost of the yearbook is $25. Both cash and cheques (made to Carlton) are excepted. Do not miss out! Order your 2012/2013 Yearbook today. You can also order online at http://jostensyearbooks.com/?REF=A01073978. ______Trades Tuesday - Automotive Service Technician Starting wage in Prince Albert - varies Journeyperson wage in Prince Albert - $36.56 / hour Automotive Service Technicians diagnose, service, repair and replace all parts of automobiles, light trucks and light buses, except for body repair and repainting. What do Automotive Service Technicians do on the job? •Review work orders and discuss work with supervisor. •Inspect motor in operation, road test motor vehicle, and test automotive systems and components using computerized diagnostic and other testing devices. •Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems using hand tools and other specialized automotive repair equipment. •Advise customers on work performed, general vehicle conditions and future repair requirements. Training – It takes four years, including a total of 1800 hours of technical training and on-the-job training each year, for an apprentice to complete training in this trade. For more information on this trade, you can talk to Mr. Huddlestone in the mechanics shop G112. ______WE DAY: All students who attended We Day are asked to come to this week's meeting, Wednesday at noon in R211, to talk about awareness-raising, billboards, stuff, videos, updates, and more! ______The class list for the April 9th after school Driver Ed class is now posted. I will be posting a revised class list on March 27th for any applications received after March 18th. Please check for your name. Today all Board Lords are asked to attend our noon hour meeting for our Yearbook photo (for real this time). Look good! ______9/10 Jr. Badminton. Practice will be both doubles and singles in the Red Gym on Thursday from 3:15 to 5:15. ______Any boys basketball players who are currently in grades 9-11 and are interested in improving their current skill level are invited to the first ever Carlton Crusader's Spring Basketball League. It will be held Thursday nights from 7-9 in the red gym beginning on April 11th and running for six consecutive weeks. For further information and sign up, see Mr. Strachan in the Male Phys. Ed office. ______Ambush will meet today at 12:10 in Mrs. Roy’s room Y201. ______Skills Robotics team will meet today at 12:10 in the electrical shop. ______Yoga class will be Wednesday at 3:30 in the canteen room. ______Photo Club will meet Wednesday at 12:10 in room B107A. ______COMMUNITY EVENTS: Rugby season is here.

Come and participate in a sport that strengthens mind, body and spirit. We will have an informational meeting in Room Y201, Mrs. Roy's room, on Thursday, March 21st at 3:30. Coaches from the team will be in attendance to answer your questions and provide information about the upcoming season. ______Prince Albert Box Lacrosse Registration/Drop in night is March 20 & 27 at the Margo Fournier Centre from 7-9 pm. Bring a helmet (with cage), gloves and shoes to try out the sport before you register. For more info visit http://www.paminorsoftball.com/ ______The Audition for the 6th annual Search for the Stars program will be held on Sunday, March 24 at the E. A. Rawlinson Centre. The audition is open to all young performers 5-18 years of age who sing, play musical instruments, dance or do any type of performance art. There is also a special Song Writer Competition sponsored by Big Drum Media. Search for the Stars is a wonderful learning experience for young performers and is also a contest with a very generous prize package. To audition, you must register by phone at the E. A. Rawlinson Centre Box Office. Registrations will be accepted until Friday, March 22 at noon.
