Expertise-Flexibility-Value ObjectivesObjectives

ABC Professional Report Writing will enable you to write reports with confidence across a wide variety of areas. This is new course, conceived for the 21st century professional, includes:

Why Reports?

Report writing is a serious challenge. Why do we do it? What are the characteristics of good reports, and what are the skills we need to write them? This lesson involves analyzing and categorizing (both key report writing skills). ABC Case Studies help put your learning into practice.

Where do we start?

We start all reports in the same way. We analyze the four Ws in detail and combine these statements into our Statement of Purpose (or Terms of Reference). You will practice writing Report Briefs to confirm your understanding of this important lesson.

Professional Report Writing Project

You will write a report, with support and guidance from your ABC Trainer. This friendly environment allows you to put your learning immediately into practice, with detailed feedback. This will help you develop the right approach to your reports at work.

Formal Reports

Report writing involves the organization of large amounts of information. We then add short versions (introduction, summary, etc). What are the conventions and how are they changing? We study real reports on the web to see how this all fits together, and which approaches are most successful.

Research Reporting

When we don’t have the information, we have to find it. We need an understanding of research design, and the research process. Digital technology has changed the way we collect and analyze data. Online questionnaires are becoming commonplace. ICT also allows better report presentation and graphics.
