Program Description: Oberlin Heritage Center’s mission is to preserve and share Oberlin’s unique heritage and to make our community a better place to live, learn, work,
Activity: Old-fashioned games, crafts, school lessons, music, and sweets. Free “open houses” at the James Monroe House (1866), the Little Red Schoolhouse (1836), and the Jewett House (1884). Tunes from a busker’s organ, which was hand-built and will be played by Bill Cutcher, an Oberlin Heritage Center member and volunteer. Oral History table where residents and visitors can record Apollo Theater memories. At the Schoolhouse, experience historic school lessons and play old-fashioned games, including hoops, bean bag toss, sack races, and silts. Visit the “Jupies Old-Fashioned Sorghum Taffy Pull” tent and try making an old-fashioned sweet treat. Pull taffy and cover an apple for $2. Free popcorn samples from Campbell’s Popcorn.

Program Description: Since 1955, OCS has supported the community in sensitive and caring ways. OCS is a responsive community organization that provides direct assistance, referrals, and other services to Oberlin area residents and groups who need help meeting their basic needs.
Activity: Dunk Tank! Three balls for $2. Dunk famous local luminaries, politicians, educators, and bureaucrats, including City Council President David Sonner, City Manager Eric Norenberg, 10 Schools Superintendent Geoff Andrews, City Councilman David Ashenhurst, the famous Mr. Tony Mealy, and others. Fundraiser for Oberlin Community Services.
