POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a customer-centric leader who has in-depth knowledge of treasury management, trade services or cash management solutions and experience working in large corporate / multinational or financial services corporations.
We offer the opportunity to leverage Scotiabank's international presence to provide complex and intricate Global Transaction Banking (GTB) solutions for clients who require a solution with greater depth and breadth than is currently offered by other Canadian competitors. As the Director, you will be accountable for a high performance team that provides complex B2B transaction banking solutions (cash management, credit card, trade and treasury management) to large corporate and multinational corporations based in Ontario.
You will demonstrate strong negotiating and problem-solving skills while handling complex selling situations, structuring and pricing of GTB services and working with multiple decision makers on a given interaction. This includes C- level decision makers, corporate and investment bankers as well as GTB product and operation units.
You will be valued and recognized for your ability to surpass business development and portfolio growth objectives (revenue, referral and calling activity targets) as well as achieve other business objectives aligned with the department's balanced score card ( customer, financial, people, operations) for your assigned region and ongoing improvements in GTB's performance.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Lead and manage a team of seven - eight senior sales people to provide customer service consistent with Scotiabank's standards and to achieve their sales targets. This includes responsibility for the allocation of goals/objectives amongst the sales team.
2. Develop and lead the implementation of tactical strategies to support the overall strategy for Global Transaction Banking Sales and to achieve the Ontario business objectives. You have primary responsibility for embedding and sustaining sales management activities throughout the Region, developing and communicating the overall strategies of Global Transaction Banking as well as Bank-wide strategies/initiatives.
3. Maintain a market profile within the assigned market area with both internal and external contacts. You will take the lead in prospecting/sales calls where the Senior Sales Manager needs the support of a more senior officer, based on the complexity of the account/customer needs
4. Promote referrals to other parts of the Scotiabank Group, demonstrating a positive example of collaboration and flexibility, facilitating a customer focused sales culture. QUALIFICATIONS:
Expert understanding of B2B transaction banking requirements of large corporate and multinational corporations. Applicants must be subject matter expert in at least one of the following: cash/treasury management, credit card or trade management. Sound knowledge of local competitors' relevant products & services for the assigned cash management and trade finance services, as well as a detailed knowledge of the assigned market area's key industries, major customers and competitive positioning. Proven leadership experience including coaching, performance management and rewards. Results driven professional with excellent communication and influencing skills Proven ability to develop and implement tactical objectives in order to coordinate the implementations of complex transactions with multiple products and services and stakeholders. Several years experience demonstrating business development or customer relationship building in large complex organizations. Leadership experience in a sales focused organization is a definite asset.
EDUCATION AND ACCREDITATION:
University degree or Certified Treasury Professional ( CTP) designation or equivalent; and commensurate experience demonstrating in-depth knowledge of treasury solutions.
