2016 Buena Vista University Iowa High School Co-Ed Elite Meet Friday, March 18th @ 4:00pm Saturday, March 19th @ 10:00am

Coaches, We are excited to host the Indoor Elite Meets again this upcoming season in March of 2016. We are no longer going to refer to them as a classification elite meet. Pick one of the two dates to attend. We will end up with a mixture of schools (size/classification).

Coaches Information Sheet:  Field events will begin at 4:00pm Friday, running events begin at 4:00pm and field events will begin at 10:00am Saturday, running events begin at 10:15am.

 Entries All entries are due by 8:00pm two days before each meet (Wednesday March 16 th , 2016 @ 8:00pm for Friday night meet and Thursday March 17 th , 2016 @ 8:00pm for Saturday night meet). Entry Link for Friday Night: Entry Link for Saturday Night: Please use 100m dash times for the 60m dash, 110m hurdle and 100m hurdle times for the 60m hurdles, and use outdoor shuttle hurdle relay times for the shuttle hurdle relay. This system is automated and will shut down at the deadline time listed above. Please make sure you have entered and declared all athletes and relays by this time.  Camps – Team Camps will be in the basketball gym balcony. Please remember to clean up your team area before you depart from the meet. NO SPIKES OUTSIDE OF THE INDOOR TRACK!! Coaches please help us police this.

 Rules – IHSAA rules will govern all events. SPIKES WILL BE ALLOWED ¼”size limit. NO CHRISTMAS TREE OR NEEDLE SPIKES! We will inspect spikes @ the field event areas as well as the check in table. NO SPIKES ALLOWED OUTSIDE THE TRACK AREA. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION FROM ALL EVENTS. Athletes in the long jump and shot put will be given four attempts. There will be a cut off line used in the long jump (17’ boys, 14’ girls) and shot put (40’ boys, 30’ girls). The first legal attempt per competitor will be measured. Every attempt after the first attempt must be greater than the cut off line in order to be measured. The starting height in the high jump will be 4’4” for the girls and 5’4” for the boys.

 Facilities – Six lanes, 200 meter Mondo track surface including HJ and LJ approaches. Throwing circle is wood. We will have two throwing rings (boys and girls).

 No team scoring – schools will be mixed together according to time.

 You may enter two individuals in the following events: 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m/1600m. You may enter up to three individuals in the HJ, LJ, Shot Put, 60m Dash, 60m Hurdles. You may enter one 4x800, distance medley, and/or sprint medley relay team. You may enter up to three shuttle hurdle, 4x200, and 4x400 relay teams.

 Entry fee is $125 per team per gender. Have checks made out to Buena Vista Track and Field and bring with you to the meet.  Awards will be given to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in each individual event as well as each relay event. Participants will be responsible for picking up there award at the head scorer’s table.

 Heat Sheets & Results – Heat sheets will be available at the beginning of the meet. A full set of results will be posted to the BVU Track and Field Website. We will have a head coach’s meeting 45 minutes prior to the start of the field events at the head scorer’s table. Team Packets can be picked up at the scorer’s table prior to the coach’s meeting.
