STOCK MARKET PROJECT Mr. McLaughlin Assuming that you have $1000 total to invest, choose 2 stocks that you would like to invest in.
You will follow your stocks for a two-week period, ______to ______. . . YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FOLLOWING: 1. Keep track daily of the following information: (for each company) a. Daily high b. Daily low c. Closing (last) price
2. Your buying the stock on the LOW price of the first day and selling it at the HIGH price the last day (10 days later) you will do the following:
A. Type a separate paragraph for each company you buy stock in identifying: a. the names of the stock(s) you purchased b. the stock symbol(s) for each c. the reason why you chose the stock(s) that you bought d. your buying and selling price(s) of each stock e. the number of shares for each company f. and how much money you earned or lost over the two weeks.
B. A second paragraph for each company should include a brief history of each company you bought stocks in
C. You will graph each stock using either Microsoft Excel or a similar type of spreadsheet. On this line graph, you will show me (for each of the 10 days you “owned” the stock): 1. Daily high 2. Daily low 3. Closing (last) price C. The Analysis: This part should be an effort to link TWO current events, (article and summary for each) to the fluctuation of your stock(s) prices. EX. Have there been domestic or foreign policy events, laws, negotiations, etc. that may explain an up or down movement in the prices?
D. A chart and line graph of the daily numbers for each stock should also be included
YOU WILL NOT BE GRADED ON HOW MUCH MONEY YOU EARNED OR LOST, BUT ON HOW SUCESSFULLY YOU COMPLETED THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS PROJECT. This Counts as a Major Grade!!!
