Paul Crittenden LeadWell Director – Schools Advisory Service

Paul is the Director of LeadWell, the leadership development division of the Schools Advisory Service. He has a strong track record of helping leaders thrive in highly pressurised environments, and has achieved great results with school leaders for over twelve years.

Paul has been a top leadership coach and transformation specialist for almost twenty years, working in the voluntary, private and public sectors in the UK, Europe, Scandinavia, Kazakhstan, the USA and Mexico. His early career included designing and delivering innovative services for disadvantaged young people, and managing adult learning disability and mental health services. More recently, he has lectured and trained at prestigious academic and business institutions around the UK on leadership and transformation, including the Institute of Directors, Derby University, and Cranfield Business School. Paul is also a Master Practitioner in Neuro Linguistic Programming, and a Fellow of the Institute of Human Development.

Paul splits his time between helping people explore the complex and often challenging terrain of leadership, and exploring the most inhospitable and remote areas on Earth. He has over 70,000 miles of expedition experience, has crossed eight of the world’s major deserts, and recently completed a rare ‘true circumnavigation’ of the world overland. His insights on life gleaned in challenging circumstances, and in remote places, have been published in his first book, “Sights and Insights”, voted ‘Book of the Year’ in 2013. Gary Saul-Paterson is a LeadWell Coach with the Schools Advisory Service, and currently also Lead Consultant for Health Creation. Previously Gary has coached for Serco; and for Bristol and BANES local authorities. He holds a pastoral, coaching and advisory role with North Somerset Council, and is the strategic lead for the coaching and mentoring team in the local authority

Gary is a highly experienced leadership coach, trainer and facilitator who has enjoyed working in a wide variety schools cross-phase in the South West and in London. His work spans both the private and public sector, and addresses a range of issues including leadership, career development, personal effectiveness, stress management and work-life balance.

He brings to coaching nearly 25 years of experience as a head teacher, adviser and teacher, and has been a visiting lecturer at Bath Spa University on the Teaching and Learning Masters Programme.
