Course Description In this course, we will study the major turning points in the shaping of the modern world from Middle Ages to the present. We will carefully study the evolution of democratic ideas in our nation by connecting to the past. We will read personal stories to discover some of the human tragedies that have occurred in the 20th century, for example, the Holocaust. We will look at different points of views on international issues and events in order to develop the critical thinking skills needed to be an informed citizen in the contemporary world. We will also be studying the geography of our planet, Earth.
