Rachel Shelton Mann

Funeral services for Mrs. Rachel Mann, 72, of Vaiden, were held January 28 at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Leon Holly officiating. Burial was held at Vaiden Cemetery in Vaiden, with Oliver Funeral Home of Winona in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Mann died Sunday, January 26, 2003 of pneumonia, at Greenwood Leflore Hospital in Greenwood. She was a retired employee of Bell South and a member of Vaiden Baptist Church and Telephone Pioneers of America.

Survivors include one son, Steve Mann (and wife Patty) of Vaiden; one brother, Paul Shelton of Madison; four sisters, Hazel Stuart of Ridgeland, Kathleen Lassiter of Jackson, Louise "Bookie" Morris of Cantonment, FL, Barbara Faye Donald of Wallisville, TX; two grandchildren, Hannah and Haley Mann of Vaiden; and a special nephew, Scott Pindel of Vaiden.

Pallbearers were Charles Ellis, Ken McDougal, Ralph Self, James Morgan, Billy Joe Ferguson, and Frank Stanton.

Honorary pallbearers were Glen Nalley, Thomas Horne, Preston Holly, Scott Pindel, and Paul Bilsky.

Mrs. Mann was preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. Mann; her parents, Roger and Gladys Shelton; a sister, Inez Mason; a brother, Lamar Shelton. Memorials (if any) may be made to the Michael Nalley Fund c/o Vaiden Baptist Church.
