ASDAR Community Service Awards

DAR Community Service awards are an excellent way to recognize worthy individuals in your communities for voluntary achievements in cultural, education, humanitarian, patriotic, historical, and citizenship endeavors, or in environmental conservation.

The qualifications for the awards are: (1) the recipient must have contributed to their community in an outstanding voluntary heroic, civic, or benevolent manner or have participated in or organized community activities; (2) the achievement must have taken place within the past (5) years with no compensation; (3) NSDAR members are eligible for the award if the service performed was unrelated to DAR activities; (4) the award may not be presented to a recipient more than one time and may not be initiated or approved posthumously but awards that are approved may be presented posthumously; (5) the nominee may not receive more than one NSDAR award for the same accomplishments; and (6) Community Service Awards are chapter or state awards of recognition. They are not contests and there is no competitive judging at any level.

Chapters are limited to two (2) awards per NSDAR year (January 1 – December 31). Application forms are in the NIP or NSDAR Members’ Web site, form CSA-1000. Please send two copies of the completed form, one copy of documentation or proof (no more than (8) pages of recommendation letters, news articles with date and title of publication, and internet documents with web address and date retrieved but DO NOT bind or laminate), a $7 check payable to the NSDAR Treasurer General, a stamped envelope for mailing the approved form to the NSDAR Store, Office of the Corresponding Secretary General to:
