Education  General Membership email with case studies quarterly.  Focus on education that is applied not theoretical  LED street lighting o Present case studies or add publications to website. o Forum for Portland area municipalities to discuss LED retrofit and PGE options  Develop case study for electrical car charging stations. (Potential help from City of Hillsboro)  Develop a list of future topics

Branding and communication  Opportunities for cohosted meetings with other committees or organizations.  Service opportunities.  Youth outreach or other opportunities.  Exposure for website content or link to other content.

 Sustainable Practices Award Tim B. 15 min

Implemented in 2013 1. Moved to the national Sustainability Practices application format and criteria with potentially one winner being awarded in each of the categories of “Individual” and “Program/Organization/Agency. 2. Memorable award (Not a piece of paper) 3. Changed name to “Julian Sustainability Practices Award”. To be implemented in 2014 1. Change the name of the award “Sustainability Practices Award” to match National - Supported 2. Look for consultant sponsorship and potential for additional prizes, recognition, etc. -Discussed potential for funds to go to school education or project in the award winners area. Another option is for recipient to donate the money to charity. Fund trip to national conference. Need to check in with Awards Committee and the Board. 3. Automatic submittal for the national sustainability award (all applicants) – Wil try to implement this year. 4. Press release (DJC – need to explore cost, APWA Reporter)- About a dozen free opportunities.
