AN welcomed everyone to the first meeting and members introduced where they were from/who they were representing.

2 Setting the scene

MS gave an update on the GM Headteacher Alliance - There are 10 Primary and 10 secondary HT champions, representing the ten Boroughs of Greater Manchester. - Meetings have been extremely hard to organise so this year the group will operate on a virtual basis, key messages will be communicated via a monthly e-news, this will feature Strategic Group updates. - One formal meeting will take place a year and will be combined with a GM HT summit. - Schools are currently being asked to pledge their support for the Strategy and what’s its seeking to achieve http://www.greatersport.co.uk/pledge

P.E, Physical Activity and School Sport Strategy - All three strategy groups are up and running. The Sport group have started to develop an action plan, PE group have just agreed their purpose, ambitions etc.

Changes were made to the TOR. MS to circulate with meeting minutes. All members were asked to reflect on these once again and notify MS if any changes need to be made. All

Important to note that the group will now be referred to as the Physical Activity, Health and Wellbeing Strategy Group. Membership of the group was considered and it was agreed that there were gaps. Individuals were tasked with inviting reps from:-

Primary Headteacher - AN to contact Peter Wright (MS to send contact details) AN Public Health - LR LR Healthy Schools - RB/PS RB/PS Special school - RR RR Post 16/AOC - MS MS Young people - AN AN 4 Ambitions

The following changes we made:-

Ambition 1 From - An increase in the number of young people from Greater Manchester that take part in coordinated physical activity. To - An increase in the number of children and young people from Greater Manchester that take part in physical activity.

Ambition 2 From - An infrastructure of school-based health and wellbeing specialists. To - Support an infrastructure of school-based physical activity, health and wellbeing champions.

Ambition 3 From - An infrastructure of school-based health and wellbeing specialists. Young people’s commitment to a healthy lifestyle sustained by information about, and connection to, a wide range of community sport, physical education and health agencies. To - All children and young people have the knowledge and understanding to engage in lifelong physical activity as part of a healthy lifestyle.

Ambition 4 From - To ensure connectivity and collaboration in support of ‘Greater Manchester Moving’, the Blueprint for Physical Activity and Sport across Greater Manchester. To - Connect and collaborate effectively to support health and social care outcomes for children and young people. All
