B. Students will create artworks in response to appropriate artists, artworks and art movements. The appropriateness of the chosen artworks will be determined by the criteria for the project, which will deal with elements and principles of 3-Dimensional Art, and or art themes

C. Students will create artworks in response to cultural or historical events. Such events may include literary works or new happenings.

E. Students will choose appropriate materials And tools in the production of artworks. Safe usage of chosen materials and tools Will be maintained.

H. Students will explore various subject Matter in the production of their artwork, Subject matter may include: 1. Human figure 2. Portraits 3. Abstraction of Real Forms 4. Pottery 5. Social Commentary

5 SUGGESTED ACTIVITIES 1. Complete a series of expressive figure studies, from a model, in clay 2. Over an armature, build a stylized figure based on a theme 3. Using plaster strips, cast off your body a figure fragment that will be used in a relief piece 4. Do a self-portrait bust in recycled clay. Create a multiple piece mold to cast that sculpture in another material. 5. Build a base out of multiple materials that is based on architectural elements. 6. Using clay and various pottery techniques, explore the differences between functional and decorative pottery. 7. Construct a social commentary artwork using appropriate materials and methods to convey your personal stance on the issue. 8. Interpret a famous artwork into another media and style
