5. New Business A. Graphics – Kevin McLaughlin; Gale Bigbee i. GCC 2110 Design and Illustration 1  Taking components of Commercial Art and Graphics courses and putting into 1 package ii. GCC 2120 Portfolio 1  Remove Portfolio 3  Streamline  Don’t need textbooks & supplies  Remove classroom presentation / on-campus lab - use lecture/lab iii. GCC 2150 Web/Interactive Media 2  Remove #3  Some changes to GCC, GCP, GCD  Don’t need textbooks & supplies  Remove classroom presentation / on-campus lab - use lecture/lab  ‘/’ -- include in 1 and 2 in title to be consistent  Remove ‘-‘ in 4.d.  8.h. – add ‘in’ a browser iv. GCC 2160 Production Work Flow 1  Change from 2 credits to 3 credits / will need a new course number because of the change in number of credits – change to 2161 (check with Donna)  Added competencies that need to be required  1.c. – remove ‘of’  5.b. – preflight spelling  Description – add space after newspapers v. GCC 2210 Design and Illustration 2  Continuation of Design and Illustration 1 vi. GCC 2260 Production Work Flow 2  Change number to 2261 / check with Donna  Credit change from 2 credits to 3 credits vii. GCC 2270 Special Problems  Changed from GCP to GCC  Was called Specialty Imaging in the past / need new number  Credits changed from 1 - 3 to 1 – 4  Need more competencies if a 4-credit course / students put more time in / not necessarily increase number of competencies  Can you have a note indicating that for a 4-credit problem, instructor will determine competencies / should have a menu of 12 and then go down if take for a 1, 2, or 3 credits  This is a project-based course, an agreement is written up between instructor and student  For students who want to take courses above and beyond required courses and to assist in transfer students viii. GCC 2280 Graphic Communications Internship  GCC 2290 in current catalog, change this CCO to 2290  Need 1 more competency  Check wording on Learning Objectives / need to be assessable (demonstrate…. Program Change Proposal Description  Program Redesign  Fill in gaps from Riverland’s program  Did not change general education courses  No new courses  Will not affect other programs ii. Program Plan  2nd semester, 2nd year (11 credits / 9 credits); students cannot be fulltime 2nd year and could affect financial aid  Possibly try to keep students at full-time for financial aid  Could 1-credit seminar be moved up / yes, per Summer  Can allow internships to be taken in the fall rather than summer / some students are not ready iii. Schedule for Current 1st Year PT Students to Finish program iv. Pharmacy Advisory Committee Minutes (2/22/12) v. PHRM 1110 Pharmacy Technician Orientation  Renumbered for logic  Add learning outcomes  Split original orientation into 2 courses  Overview of Pharmacy  Change on-line / on-campus to lecture or lab (check to change where necessary to all)  Add pre-requisites, even if nothing is required  Some re-wording of competencies / matched up to national competencies  1.f. – spelling: ‘discuss’ vi. PHRM 1111 Pharmacy Law and Ethics  Change from 2 credit class to 1 credit  Remove Fall 2012 from title  Description – change ‘they’ to ‘the’  4.b. add ‘,’ after federal vii. PHRM 1112 Retail Pharmacy  Breakout from Orientation  Take students from campus to lab  Contact hours should be 16 and 32 / potential hours = 48 viii. PHRM 2114 Pharmacology  Changed wording on CCO to match accreditation standards x. xi. PHRM 2116 Institutional Pharmacy  Combine 1 credit Institutional Pharmacy and 3 credit Aseptic to 1 course  Change Developer to instructor name  Prerequisite should be 2114, not 1114 xii. PHRM 2117 Pharmacy Technician Internship (1ST READING)  Combined Retail and Hospital internship into 1 course  Will remove prerequisite of PHRM 2118 if program moves the seminar to a different semester  ‘instructor permission’ can be cumbersome to instructors / per Donna Marzolf / Summer will remove this statement  List in course description / prior to enrollment, student must have evidence of satisfactory immunization check  Possibly change to 2 4-credit courses (change courses numbers, updated wording)  Need to resolve possible changes to Program Plan HOLD FOR NEXT MEETING
