Course Overview/Description. The goal of our program is to prepare students for their future— college & career ready. Junior ROTC (JROTC) is designed to teach high school students the value of citizenship, leadership, service to the community, personal responsibility, and a sense of accomplishment, while instilling in them self-esteem, teamwork, and self-discipline. JROTC focus is reflected in its mission statement, “To Motivate Young People to be Better Citizens.” The course prepares high school students for responsible leadership roles, while making them aware of their duties, rights and responsibilities, and privileges as American citizens. Physical fitness, personal and social discipline, and avoidance of substance abuse are stressed through all four years/levels of the program. This program is a stimulus for promoting graduation from high school; as it provides instruction and rewarding opportunities that will benefit the student, community, and nation.
Uniform . All JROTC cadets are required to wear a US Army JROTC uniform. JROTC cadets must comply with Army JROTC grooming standards before receiving a uniform. Cadets receive an AJROTC uniform (shirt, pants, footwear, t-shirt, jacket, socks, belt, and earned cadet decorations and awards) at no cost on a loan basis. Cadets are responsible for the condition of these items and for the proper return of all items at the end of the school year or when they leave the AJROTC program. Students are responsible to pay for damaged or lost items.
