Visitation Policies

Labor and Delivery In order to promote the safety and well-being for all of out patients and their newborns, the staff at Tift Regional Medical Center encourages you to respect and willingly abide by the following rules and regulations of the labor and delivery (L&D) department regarding visiting.  Support persons may visit 24 hours daily in L&D and provided they are properly identified with identification bracelets. Identification bracelets are not interchangeable.  Support persons are limited to three including the significant other.  The significant other is the primary person involved in support a mother through the delivery and subsequent stay (For example: father of the baby or the parent of the laboring mom can be designated).  Support identification bands are removed after dismissal from the unit.  During recovery or initial postpartum period visitors will be limited to four persons in the patient’s room at any one time. Visitors are asked to limit their time if others are waiting in the general lobby/waiting area adjacent to the unit.  At the discretion of the RN or physician/CNM caring for the patient, unit visitors may be limited during a given time due to emergent situations or extremely busy unit.  Children under the age of 12 are strongly discouraged from visiting the Labor and Delivery Unit.

Obstetrical Triage For patients who are being evaluated for either admission to or treatment and discharge from Labor and Delivery unit please respect and abide by the following:.  Same as labor and delivery as stated above – with the exception that triage patients will be limited to one support person

Mother Baby Unit (Includes Antepartum Patients) In order to promote the safety and well-being for all of out patients and their newborns, the staff at Tift Regional Medical Center encourages you to respect and willingly abide by the following rules and regulations of the Mother Baby Unit regarding visiting.  Significant others and support people—24 hours with proper identification band.  General visitors—1:00 PM -9:00 PM  Grandparents and siblings only 11:00 AM-9:00 PM  Children under the age of 12 are strongly discouraged from visiting the Mother Baby Unit unless they are siblings of the new infant.  For security purposes, the staff at TRMC discourages the visitation of any child other than the child or stepchild of the patient.
