PRESS RELEASE

EGGER GIVES A POSITIVE SUMMARY OF THE ZOW 2009 Surface textures as a design element never as important than today The wood based panels manufacturer EGGER can give a positive summary of the ZOW trade fair that has just finished in Bad Salzuflen. The important decision makers of the European furniture industry - from the executive directors and owners over purchasers and product managers up to designers - informed themselves at EGGER about the latest trends and products. In spite of the currently unfavourable general conditions, numerous visitors from Eastern Europe and Russia visited the EGGER exhibition stand. Overall, the decor trends presented by EGGER received a lot of attention and appreciation. “ Texture meets Colour“ – was the motto at the EGGER exhibition stand in Bad Salzuflen. New wood and imaginative textures on uni-colour and mother of pearl colours were presented there. The visitors were able to gain an impression of the wide scope of the EGGER decor program on an impressive collage wall with uni- decors in different colour shades and with different surface textures.

EGGER DISPLAYED A WIDE SPECTRUM OF SURFACE TEXTURES The structure shapes the character of a decor. The interaction between uni-colours and wood reproductions is developing into a mega trend. It is thereby important that classic wood types such as beech, maple, oak or walnut are on the one hand imparted with a high degree of naturalness, but on the other hand also display a play of colours, which above all allows the combination with warm grey tones. Wood textures therefore meet colours. With the decor innovations presented by EGGER at this year's ZOW in Bad Salzuflen, this theme was developed even further. The woods based panels manufacturer especially presented woods that receive a very independent visual appearance through glazes and liming, and which can be perfectly combined with trendy uni-colours such as Lava, Fango, Reed or Dakar. Apart from the already well-proven textures, two new texture studies were introduced at the ZOW: ST984 Porfido and ST944 Carre. Further surface texture innovations are A2 Dots und A3 Circles, with which the Artwave series is being continued. According to the feedback from the visitors the favourites amongst the decors were Driftwood, as well as the pine series Avola with the texture ST22 in the colours white to truffle brown. Further highlights are the new quartz decors, with which the different structures become even more clearly visible through a mother of pearl sheen: Graphite metallic, Quartz glass, Quartz forest, Quartz aqua, Quartz copper and Quartz blackberry.

EUROLIGHT WORKTOPS: NEW DESIGN SOLUTIONS Already in January at the BAU trade show in Munich, EGGER had presented an extended stock program or 60 mm thick and at the same time light Eurolight worktops. At the ZOW, the wood based panels manufacturer now showed a further innovation for the application of the environmentally conserving lightweight board. Michael Beckmann, product manager for worktops at EGGER, has created a study under the title ‘Advance’, which picks up on the current trends in kitchen design and shows solutions for thin worktops, without the usual planning raster having to be changed. With the study EGGER shows the solution for the trend towards thin worktops and demonstrates how versatile the application of the Eurolight board is. At the ZOW, EGGER additionally presented the effect of LED elements behind translucent edges, which can be easily integrated within the honeycomb board. Above all processors were very interested in this innovation.
