The basic objective of French II is to help each student continue to attain basic proficiency in the skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. The focus is on learning the past tense, increasing vocabulary and learning more complex grammar concepts. This course is targeted to the development of novice-mid to novice-high proficiency.

GRADING MINIMUM of 3 major grades per 6 weeks MINIMUM of 6 daily grades per 6 weeks WEIGHT: MAJOR = 60% DAILY = 30% HOMEWORK = 10% Major grades may include tests, oral grades, projects and writing assignments. Daily grades - quizzes, handouts, audio workbook etc.

TEST DAYS Tuesdays and Thursdays LATE WORK PROCEDURE Posted on website after 8/24 MAKE-UP WORK When absent, it is the student’s responsibility to look up the work owed on the chart posted on the day he/she returns. PROCEDURE FOR MAKE-UP: ALL TESTS AND QUIZZES MUST BE SCHEDULED WITH THE TEACHER. All other KISD policies regarding make-up work will be followed. RE-TEACH PROCEDURE Formal tutoring is available on Wednesday 2:30 - 3:30 SUPPLIES NEEDED FOR FRENCH 2:

5 Tabbed dividers with pockets

200 count white, wide or college ruled paper

2 red, 2 blue/black pens and 2 pencils (for scantron tests) and a ZIPPERED CASE to store them in (place in binder)

500-600 WHITE 3 X 5 flashcards (lined or unlined) & labeled

2 large WHITE poster boards with your name written in small font on bottom right corner of one side of posters

Have on hand: A flash drive

Optional items: Glue stick, white-out, dry erase pen, highlighters, your own French pocket dictionary (labeled)
