AvaLAN Wireless Announces New 5.8 GHz FCC Certification New 5.8 GHz Industrial Wireless Ethernet Solutions

Huntsville, AL., February 7th, 2013 - Alabama-based AvaLAN Wireless Systems, Inc. is pleased to announce its new AW5802 Family of products. These products are an ideal replacement for modest data rate (rates under 2Mbps) installations where 802.11 systems are under-performing or failing completely due to insufficient range or excessive interference. The AW5802 products support a standard Ethernet interface and op- erate using a proprietary over-the-air protocol for additional robust- ness and additional security. The new AW5802 products also allow you to build line-of-sight, point-to-multipoint wireless Ethernet links that connect “fringe” IP devices, including IP access control readers, remote printers, remote PCs, VoIP phones, point-of-sale devices, dig- ital signage or industrial control devices. The AW5802xTR radios in- clude a built-in spectrum analyzer and they are IP addressable with web browser based remote configuration and diagnostic tools includ- ed. The 5.8 GHz band provides up to 59 channels and less interference than the 2.4 GHz band. AvaLAN has recently added FEC (forward error correction) to provide even more robustness in harsh wireless environments. AvaLAN’s products offer the ideal combination of price, range, data rate, security, interference avoidance, quality-of-service, and a simple plug and play set up with minimal user programming required.

"AvaLAN continues their proven track record of innovation with the introduction of the new AW5802 family of products. These products offer customers an outdoor industrial wireless Ethernet alternative to 900 MHz with more channels and less in- terference,” said Matt Nelson, Chief Executive Officer of AvaLAN Wireless Systems, Inc.
