Metro Nashville Open Data Metadata Template v1.0 Page 3 of 5 data.nashville.gov 08/11/2017 Info Latitude Text Plotted location. In cases of a platted cemetery, the point represents the geographic center of the cemetery parcel. In cases where the cemetery is located inside (and is still part of) a larger, sometimes much larger, parcel, the point has been placed at the geographic center of the overall, un- divided parcel, which may be some considerable distance from the actual cemetery. An example would be a small 20’ x 20’ family cemetery that is located on a 200ac. historic farmstead. As the cemetery has not (yet) been subdivided out of the larger parcel, the map point will be at the center of the farm property, regardless of the location of the associated cemetery. If the larger parcel is developed at some future time and subdivided, the location of the cemetery will be updated to reflect the newly surveyed parcel. Longitude Text Same condition as “Latitude” field Archaeological Text Any relevant archaeological information Information

Not every burial is represented by this list, only burials with an identifiable marker. Some cemeteries may be known to have 20 burials, but only 3 readable tombstones remain. In this example, there will be 3 separate entries, one row for each named burial, and the number 20 will be listed in the field “known burials.”
