UW WAUKESHA HAWAII DAILY ITINERARY JANUARY 27 – FEBRUARY 5, 2017

Day 1 – 27 Jan (Fri) – Arrival in Honolulu, Hawaii Depart Chicago on your flight to Honolulu. Upon arrival to the island of Oahu, you are greeted in the traditional Polynesian way—with a warm aloha and a Lei of fresh flowers. A group transfer is provided to your hotel in Waikiki.

Day 2 – 28 Jan (Sat) – Honolulu Enjoy your morning and early afternoon at leisure. Your Tour Director is on hand to offer suggestions on how to make the most of your time. Late Afternoon, you will be transferred to the Mission House for your independently arranged tour and dinner. (B,D)

Day 3 – 29 Jan (Sun) – Honolulu Begin with a tour of Pearl Harbor’s famous Battleship Row. Listen to a narration of the dramatic air attack of December 7, 1941, and visit the USS Arizona and the impressive memorial dedicated to the 1,102 men still entombed. You will also have an opportunity to visit the museum, an excellent way to learn about Pearl Harbor Day, the Japanese strategy and military craft, and the individuals involved in the attack. Next, visit the USS Missouri. Then, on to Punchbowl National Cemetery, with its beautiful views of Honolulu. Other sights include Chinatown, the Hawaii State Capitol, royal ‘Iolani Palace, and the statue of Kamehameha the Great. A special Welcome Dinner is included tonight at a local restaurant. (B, D) Day 4 – 30 Jan (Mon) – Honolulu Enjoy your day at leisure. Your Tour Director is on hand to offer suggestions on how to make the most of your time. This evening, enjoy an included Dinner in your final night in Honolulu. (B, D) Day 5 – 31 Jan (Tue) – Honolulu Transfer to airport for Intra-tour Flight to Maui A transfer is provided to the Honolulu airport. An afternoon flight takes you to the “Valley Island” of Maui. Drive to the lush `Iao Valley to see the `Iao Needle, a spectacular volcanic spire. Visit Lahaina, then continue on to Ka`anapali, your home for the next four nights. The balance of the day is at leisure. (B)

Day 6 – 1 Feb (Wed) – Maui Experience the thrill of a Humpback Whale Watching Cruise this morning aboard a spacious Catamaran. Each year the Pacific Humpback Whales migrate from Alaska to the coastal waters off Maui. This is an exciting learning experience with a marine naturalist on board each trip. This evening enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. (B, D)

Day 7 – 2 Feb (Thu) –Maui Excursion to Haleakala National Park This morning is dedicated to Haleakala National Park, site of the huge volcanic Haleakala Crater, known as the “House of the Sun.” In 1980, this native ecosystem of cinder cones and dense rainforest was designated an International Biosphere Reserve. There’s plenty of time in the afternoon to relax and enjoy your hotel’s facilities and beach. (B)

Day 8 – 3 Feb (Fri) – Maui at leisure Activities abound and your Tour Director is on hand to help you plan your day. A full free day is available to enjoy Maui or an optional tour, such as the “Road to Hana,” one of the world’s most impressive drives, with 54 bridges and numerous waterfalls. This evening, your Tour Director hosts a special farewell Polynesian Luau Dinner. (B,D) Day 9 – 4 Feb (Sat) – Departure from Maui After breakfasts a transfer is provided to the Kahului Airport for your flight home to Chicago. (B)

Day 10 – 5 Feb (Sun) - Arrive Chicago
