Meeting Minutes

Members present: Sharon Warsaw, Jamie Vranak, Kelly Tomaszewski, Chuck Schlichting, Joan Boll, Laura Smolinski, Jayne McGrath, Denise Shepler

1. Call to Order a. A quorum was established

c. Adoption of Consent Agenda Motion: made to adopt the consent agenda and seconded Action: a vote supported the motion

d. Conflict of Interest Disclosure Discussion/Summary: No conflict of interest was disclosed

2. President’s Report (Jamie Vranak)

a) Discussion/Summary: 2017 Future Meetings:

 March 9-Following Northeast Regional Conference in Eau Claire

 May 10-Following “Advancing emergency nursing conference” at Epic campus in Verona (near Madison, in South Central Region)

 August 23, 1600-1800; Location—TBD—possibly in Portage at Divine Savior Hospital

 October (State Symposium) Board dinner meeting on second night of conference

 November meeting: TBD—to coincide with Milwaukee area regional meeting

3. Treasurer’s Report (Denise Shepler)

Discussion/Summary: Report was reviewed and discussion ensued

Motion: Motion was made to accept report and seconded

Action: Vote unanimously carried motion

4. Committee Reports

Discussion/Summary:

a. Education: Joan Boll reviewed the state symposium evaluations. Overall were positive for the speakers. Joan plans to send out a save the date for the 2017 state symposium. Discussion followed about vendors who do not show at State and Regional Conferences, despite having paid for their space.

Motion: A motion was made that WI ENA will not give refunds to NO SHOW VENDORS at State Conferences, nor will they be allowed to transfer their vending space to a future WI ENA regional or state conference. The motion was seconded.

Action: Motion was carried by a unanimous vote

b. Advocacy: Jamie Vranak reviewed some of the initiatives by National ENA in the area of advocacy. Day on the Hill date was discussed and action needed to send members for 2017 to Washington. Jamie will send email to members inviting them to apply to attend.

c. Membership: Jayne McGrath distributed a list of new ENA members, for January to the regional directors. She will follow up with emailing welcome letter template from National ENA along with membership lists to the regional directors.

d. Other committees/new committee members (see attached list) Brenda Fellenz had comprised a list of committee list of new and existing members, based on members’ response to a call for committee involvement
