Milford High School Football Boosters Meeting September 8, 2010 Financial Update See Treasurer’s Report.

Provided 6 camp scholarships. All recipients gave advanced notice and submitted the written form. Spartan Card Fundraiser Still counting cards and money. Should have everything reconciled by October meeting. Received $482 in donations. Suggestions for next year:  Get stickers to give to people so that don’t get approached at every store they enter.  Set-up Friday night at Walmart early. Have cheerleaders cover this spot.  Dunkin Donut shifts should end by 11am.  Groceries stores should start later and go to 4pm.  Need better handouts and posters for all locations. Spartan Nights at Giorgios Proceeds from Spartan diners was $390. George agreed at the beginning to match up to $500but he pledging $890 in the end. Did we receive check from Giorgios?

This fundraiser was held at the same time as the Spartan Card fundraiser so many families contributed to one or the other fundraiser. Next year schedule the event in the Fall after the season starts. District Meeting Rita and Liz meet with Katie Chambers at the SAU. The school district is taking over the Concession Stand. The football team will have priority during the season but the SAU manages the overall schedule. The SAU will maintain the Concession Stand going forward. The User Fee was waived for the Football Boosters this year. Should try to get this fee waved every year.

All meetings/events at the high school must be scheduled in advance. To book a room, you need to fill out a form with the SAU and then fax that form to Diane Smith at the High School. Diane finalizes the schedule with Dr. Craven. The SAU requires a copy of the Liability Insurance and Tax ID form registered every year. In addition, someone in the Concession Stand needs to take the Safety course through the SAU. 2010 Program Program complete. Google email and documents worked great for exchanging pictures and text for program. Should have two people run the program next year: 1 to lay out the program and 1 to organize the photo shots. The layout person should go to the printer because there are always last minute changes to the source. Will need photographer volunteers next year. Decided to drop the number of copies to 75 so all pages would be color. Printing budget: $500. Home Opener Home opener is this Friday, 9/10 Pembroke against Conval. General status:  Need to finalize the Gate assignments. Deb Keating will send confirmation.  Walt Lambert will do the 50/50.  Wendy Hutchinson will sell programs.  Donna Micozzi will set up. Cheerleaders will help.  Donna Micozzi needs to contact Liz about bringing the Milford Spartan banner.  Deb Keating will get balloons.  Donna Micozzi will bring the player signs.  Rita will write script for Mr. O’Keefe. Concession Stand Food ordered and volunteers set for the season. Deb will follow-up with the Music Boosters about purchasing hamburger patties, hot dogs, and rolls they have leftover from camp. Sign Making Sign making should be done as part of the September meeting if possible. Booster club provides foam board, paints, and markers. There is also a supply of sign stakes. Signs should be made for all sophomores, juniors, and seniors that do not have them already. Cheerleaders will help paint signs. They also make a few spirit signs as well. Signs should be stored in the Concession Stand and displayed at home games. Next Meeting October 12th, 7:00 at the Milford High School Lecture hall.
