A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives in loving memory and honor of Billy Joe Ross. With deepest respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to Billy Joe Ross, and we pause in silent reverence for his soul. WHEREAS, Billy Joe Ross was born on February 28, 1925, a native of Buchanan, Kentucky, and longtime resident of Catlettsburg, Kentucky, and he traversed these earthly bounds on March 3, 2005; and WHEREAS, Billy Joe Ross was the loving son of the late T. P. and Bertha Pearl Estep Ross; he was also predeceased by his loving wife of 60 years, Marie Blake Ross, a loving brother, John Ross, and a loving sister, Ruth Horton; he was the adored father of a daughter, Kathy Bennett of Catlettsburg, and four sons, Bill Tom Ross and Tony Ross, both of Catlettsburg, Jimmy Ross of Raceland, and Marty Ross of Worthington; he was the proud grandfather of seven grandchildren, Cari Rucker, Christa Hoffman, Courtney Howard, Kyle Ross, Katy Bennett, Joe Bennett, and Kylee Ross; and he was also the proud great-grandfather of four great-grandchildren, Bailey Marie Ross, Davis Hoffman, and Matt and Danielle Rucker; and WHEREAS, Billy Joe Ross served his country with honor and distinction in the United States Navy during World War II; and WHEREAS, Billy Joe Ross was an esteemed member of the Boyd County community, where he was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Catlettsburg; he was an automobile salesman for over 40 years; and he served as Boyd County judge executive and Boyd County commissioner; and WHEREAS, the passing of Billy Joe Ross has left a void that cannot be filled, and he is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth; NOW, THEREFORE, Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The House of Representatives does hereby express its profound sense of sorrow upon the passing of Billy Joe Ross, and extends to his family and friends its most heartfelt sympathy. Section 2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of Billy Joe Ross. Section 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Mrs. Kathy Bennett, 3215 Oakland Avenue, Catlettsburg, Kentucky 41129.
