--CONGRATULATIONS GRADUATES - In honor of all the graduates from our church we will be serving cake this morning after the service. Please join us in celebrating their accomplishments!

--FROM THE COUNCIL - We are inviting the whole congregation to a hamburger barbeque after church on Sunday, June 7. We would like EVERYONE’S help in welcoming Pastor Bob Pollema and his family to our church family as he interns for us. We are so excited he is going to be part of our church and hope that our congregation can extend him a warm welcome. Please consider coming to welcome him, and if you are able please take along a side-dish. The burgers, buns, and drinks will be provided. Thanks! The Council

--A QUESTIONNAIRE will be handed out after this morning service. We have tables set up in back of church. We encourage everyone to take a little time and fill them out right away. If you feel you need more time and want to take them home we would like them back by Sunday, May 31. A basket is on the back table to put them in. Questionnaire will help search committee and also help perspective pastors evaluate our church.

--ANNUAL MEMORIAL DAY SERVICE AT OAK GROVE STATE PARK next week Sunday, May 24. Our outdoor service will start at 10:00 AM. Rev Colonel Herman Keizer will be preaching. Offering will be for Hope Haven. Please bring a hot and/ or cold dish, and your lawn chairs. In case of rain we will meet at the West Sioux High School.

-- IRETON CHRISTIAN SCHOOL AUXILIARY COLLECTION ITEMS: Ireton Christian School Auxiliary collects the following items and turns them in to earn money for the school. If you have any of these, you can drop them off at school anytime during school hours and bring them to the 2nd closet door to the right by the main entrance. We collect: Pop cans, ink jets, cell phones, Pizza Ranch Wagon Wheels, Box Tops, Campbells Soup Labels.

To everyone who has helped already!! --AN ATTORNEY WITH A HEART FOR JUSTICE – Can you imagine meeting your lawyer on the day of your trial because the lawyer simply has too many cases to manage? This week, court-appointed attorney Anna Rapa explains how she lives out her faith by giving each client personalized service in the midst of a dehumanizing indigent defense system. Go to KDCR, 88.5 FM on Sunday at 2:30 P.M. to listen to Crossroad Connection - a restorative justice ministry of Crossroad Bible Institute.

--MEMORIAL DAY PANCAKE BREAKFAST will be held on Monday, May 25 at the Ireton Ball Park Shelter House. Serving from 7:00 – 10:00 am. Menu will include pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, coffee, milk and juice. Freewill Offering. We are asking for some donated items. Please see sign up sheet in back.

--BLOOD DRIVE will be on Wednesday, May 27 from 1:30-4:00 pm at the Ireton Community Center.

--HILLCREST SERVICE will be Monday, June 1 at 6:30 pm. Art Hamming*, Tim Bonnema, Shirley Ten Napel, Daryl Byker, Ryan Zomermaand, Nelma Byker, Howard Hulshof, Youth Group. (Chairman is requested to call Hillcrest (551-1074) before 9 A.M. on the morning of your service to remind them that your group will be there in the evening.)

--RUN, WALK & ROLL – You are invited to walk, run or roll in your wheelchair for a great cause at the 10th annual Run, Walk & Roll at Village Northwest Unlimited. There will be a 5K and 10K run, and a 1 mile walk/roll event on Saturday, June 6, beginning at 8am. Register by calling Judy at (712) 324-5416 or online at www.allsportcentral.com. Help us meet our goal of 400 participants in honor of VNU’s 40th anniversary. Join the fun -- together we can make a difference in the lives of people with disabilities!

--IRETON COMMUNITY VBS PROGRAM, EVERST, will be held August 3 - 6 (6:00 - 8:30 p.m.) at the First Reformed Church this year. We are needing coffee cans (all sizes) empty (cleaned and dried) gallon milk jugs, so start saving those for us as well! There is a collection container available for these items in the back of church. Thanks!

--YOUNG PEOPLE’S MISSION PROJECT - The young people will be going to Denver to work with Craig Broek as a mission project later this summer. We will be leaving Wednesday, August 12 and coming home on Sunday, August 16. We will return late on Sunday night or early Monday am. We will be driving and pulling 2 campers and bringing along some tents to stay in. We will also be providing some of our own meals. Anyone from the congregation is invited to go along. Contact Sara H or Angie Z for more information and for the name/number to reserve your own campsite. If you would like other accommodations, you will have to contact Craig Broek.
