Forest School -. Class 1 began their Forest School visits on October 2nd. It took a while for us to get our larger groups (25 compared to last year’s 16!) all waterproofed and wellied, but we had a lovely morning once we made it to the woods and the children began to discover the freedom and opportunities Forest School offers. We have already enjoyed our second visit and this time managed to get the fire going and have some hot chocolate!! Thanks to our volunteers - Nathalie (mum of Cai), Amanda (mum of Phoebe) and Pam (mum of Jonathan), and Gill (mum of Katie in class 2) who has kindly agreed to help again this year. Sadly over the Summer we have arrived in the area to find it littered and vandalised. We have also had reports of children playing in the area after school. Please can you remind your older children, including older siblings who have moved on from Primary School that the land is private and without the owner’s permission going into the area is trespassing. Whoever is responsible is jeopardising the school’s relationship with the Peake family, as well as leaving the youngest children in our community very upset. If we can all work together to eradicate the problem Class 1 and I would be very grateful. Mrs Sale

School council - this year our school council representatives are: Jessica Spittle, Jo Acum, Freya Ollman, Joshua Haynes, Noah Honour, Ellie Gilman, Gabriel Roberts, Lilly Norton, Ethan Jones, Phoebe May Help needed! - Each Friday the school council are running a fruit bar at break time. This involves a group visiting the village shop, another group preparing the fruit and a third group selling it outside during morning break. If any parent/friend of the school would be willing to give up an hour on Friday morning to help with this we would be most grateful. Please let the office/Mrs Sale know. Volunteers will need to undergo a CRB Enhanced Disclosure check.

A reminder from School Council - As you know we should be bringing in only healthy snacks for break times. If you bring in an unhealthy snack you will need to put it in your lunch box or take it home. Please visit the fruit bar on Fresh Fruit Fridays where you can buy fruit for 30p.

School’s Out, Holiday Provision - It is with regret that we have to inform you that the very difficult decision to cease running School’s Out has recently been made by the Headteachers of the Woodstock Partnership of schools. This decision has not been taken lightly, but with a significant falling off of paying participants over the last couple of years (we are sure because of the current economic climate) it has become impossible for us to continue to operate without substantial financial support and unfortunately that is no longer available. Should we be able to access new sources of funding it is our ambition to initiate other projects that offer valuable support to children.
